Founders of Tenderly
Our story starts with our 4 founders.
As an already well-coordinated team participating in various hackathons throughout Europe, they decided to go to their first blockchain hackathon, with a dose of skepticism towards the technology itself, and with the attitude - if we, who don't know much about it, end up winning - our skepticism is justified.
They won, but something unplanned happened.
During the hackathon, they realized that the industry and technology were so young that at that moment there were still no basic tools that would help the engineering development itself.
In particular, if you were an engineer who wanted to develop anything with blockchain technology in 2018, you were forced to do it with your hands and eyes tied, without the most basic debugging tools that you are used to in the "traditional", "web2" world. If a bug appears, your only option is to drink a couple of shots of rakija, wish for the best, and start deleting code line by line to see where the problem is.
The first thing the Tenderly team started developing was the first stack tracer for Solidity, a programming language for developing applications on the Ethereum blockchain network. They open-sourced it and immediately noticed very positive reactions from the blockchain engineering community.
Somewhere along the way, they decided to quit their day jobs, focus on developing Tenderly, and in parallel continue to participate in hackathons, so that they could bootstrap their startup from the money earned through competitions.

Fun fact: at the hackathon, they worked on developing an app for tenders on the blockchain, hence Tenderly.
