Workplace model

Our workplace model varies by location to best support how our teams work - whether that’s in the office, hybrid, or remote-first. Tenderly began as a Belgrade-based company, with our main office shaping much of our early culture and collaboration. As we’ve grown, we’ve expanded into San Francisco to be closer to partners and customers, and we’re now building out our distributed team by hiring more remote team members around the world.

Here’s how our workplace model looks today across locations:

Location Primary workplace model Definition % of team members in this location as of April 2025
Belgrade Office Office-first It is recommended that team members are in the office at least 4 days a week.

Additional flexibility is to be agreed upon on a team level, with manager and peers. | 90% | | SF Office | Hybrid | There's no set schedule, we encourage teams to come in often to collaborate, connect, or just work together in person. | 5% | | Distributed | Remote-first | It is recommended that team member visit one of the two offices in the first three weeks since their start date.

Additional visits are to be agreed upon on a team level, with managers and peers. | 5% |

Flexible working hours

We have flexible working hours, meaning there is no clocking in and out - you decide when you start and end your day. With this setup, we aim to alleviate the stress of being late for work, wasting time during rush hour, and make space for the unexpected - pick kids up from school earlier, have a doctor’s appointment mid-day, and similar.

With that in mind, we do have a bias for scheduling meetings during core hours. For our European team members, the core hours are in-between 9am and 6pm CET, whereas for our American team members, it’s 7am to 4pm PST. When working directly with colleagues in other time zones, we dedicate the overlapping time to meetings, when sync work is needed.

How we communicate

At Tenderly, English is our official language and the default for all written communication and documentation. While the company originated in Serbia and our largest office is based there, we also have an office in San Francisco and anticipate welcoming additional distributed team members in the future. To ensure no one feels excluded from discussions and to support a scalable way of working as we grow, English is used across meetings, Slack channels, and shared documents.

That said, communication should adapt to the context. It’s perfectly fine to speak Serbian in the Serbian office when it feels more natural or efficient. The key is to switch to English when it helps ensure inclusivity and alignment across the team.

Company Meetings

All Hands

This is recurring company-wide meeting. The agenda for these meetings is created and run by the leadership team, although everyone is invited to propose a topic and be involved in presenting during the meeting.

Participation is encouraged, and questions are always welcome—these meetings are an open space to stay informed, aligned, and engaged with what’s happening across the company.

CEO Office Hours

CEO Office Hours are dedicated time set aside by our CEO, Andrej, to be available for open discussions, questions, feedback, or anything else team members want to talk about.
