On-site interviews**

****Here are things you would like to know before your technical interview. First off - don’t panic. The interview should be a fun experience for both the interviewee and the interviewer. We’re a group of fun and approachable people and the goal is to show yourself in the best light possible.

This is a technical assessment and you will have two back-to-back interviews, each lasting about an hour. Interviewers in these interviews are Nemanja, Jelena, Nikola and Ana.

💬 Our engineers gave you some tips on how to prepare 💬

Time to revisit the JS fundamentals. Go over basic stuff and how JavaScript works. Do you know how JS engine executes different kinds of functions? How does event-loop work? How is memory handled? This might sound like just interview questions, but in reality, you’ll have a hard time debugging something that doesn’t work as expected if you don’t understand how all of this works. Data structures are also important. You should know when to use a tree, map, or linked list. Again, this might not be so obvious but knowing this you’ll be able to write performant and scalable code. No need to be an algos expert, the emphasis is on awareness.

If you haven’t used them, at least get familiar with different frontend frameworks and think about what problems they are solving. Think about how would you implement some feature without any framework vs using a framework.

Last but not least, get familiar with styling aka CSS. Look at different styling solutions and the cons/pros of each. Know how the browser renders/paints stuff on the screen. How can you make it more performant? What about scalability? Think of what it takes to make the app run at 60fps.

Know what’s current - it may sound obvious, but make sure you are up to date with all the latest hot topics. Frontend development is evolving rapidly and keeping up should be your daily task. This is where the real passion shows. The best frontend engineers don’t read articles and the latest web standards because they have to but because they love it and have fun while doing it.
